‘Practical challenges of growing a business from start up to exit’

Jerry EjikemeJerry is a serial entrepreneur with over 20 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry. After a successful venture with Inmarsat in West Africa, he led African operations at Nomi Mobile, an MVNO backed by BT/British Telecommunication.

In 2007, Jerry founded Sochitel UK and Nomiworld to focus exclusively on the emerging international remittances industry.

Sochitel is a leading global FinTech platform and hub, specialising in the distribution of digital products and services. Processing millions of transactions daily, the Sochitel platform provides over 60 million unique end users with digital products and services, from some of the world’s leading brands. With strategic office locations in London, New Jersey, Lagos, Johannesburg, Accra and Douala, plus several other pan-African locations, the business has developed a strong footprint serving major African banks, mobile money operators and fintech platforms, as well as corporate clients across the globe.

Recently, IDT Corporation, an NYSE listed global provider of fintech, cloud and traditional communications services acquired a majority stake in Sochitel. Thus the business is able to leverage combined capabilities to deliver International Top Ups, International Money Remittance Services and Digital Retail Solutions to a global network of distribution partners and clients.

As Sochitel has developed its presence in emerging markets, Jerry's passion for improving the quality of people's lives through enabling access to digital products and services has led to him supporting a number of charitable initiatives and causes across Africa.

Jerry has a law degree from University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) and has been called to the Nigerian Bar.

He also holds an Executive MBA from Cranfield School of Management in the UK.
