This is the perfect opportunity to hear first-hand accounts from successful entrepreneurs. The Bettany Centre Entrepreneurship Speaker Series gives you the chance to hear from a variety of entrepreneurs from across a range of industries.

The speakers will give you an insight in to their journey, identifying their successes and any mistakes that they may have made along their way. You will also be given the opportunity to ask questions, allowing you to delve even further in to the backstory of these well-established entrepreneurs.

Attending these events will provide you with a great chance to network with like-minded individuals who share your passion for entrepreneurship.

The events are entirely free of charge.

Dates for your diary

All of our Speaker Series events take place on Zoom at 18:00 on Thursday evenings in November and February.

Diane Young – Thursday 11 February 2021

Diane Young

"If my entrepreneurial life was a binge series"

Diane Young is co-founder and CEO of The Drum, which is a media company serving marketers and media people with news, events, insights, consultancy and other services.

From a degree in pure and applied mathematics through a short stint in the health service, Diane has been instrumental in growing The Drum from 14 people in a damp basement in Glasgow to an internationally recognised B2B media company with offices in Glasgow, London, New York, Singapore and Mumbai.

With over a million marketers from around the world visiting thedrum.com every month, The Drum is now a leading global source of marketing intelligence.

Diane is interested in marketing of course but also endlessly curious about the world of business and is a keen student on how to improve performance. She has spoken at TEDX and in the USA and Scandinavia as well as in the UK, and has a podcast series “Marketing Stories”.  She is working on developing skills in TV production and presenting.

Strangely she also finds herself as a pub landlady in the soon-to-open The Drum Labs, an innovation & event space in Shoreditch.

In her spare time she looks after her family of husband (who is also her business partner), three children, a lockdown puppy dog and an investment property portfolio.
