Background


Peter Ikoza completed his Bsc (Hons|) in Agriculture from Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Enugu Nigeria and Msc in Environmental and Resource Management from Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus Germany with concentration on Environmental Sustainability specialising on Nigerian Oil waste. He has so many Site management and construction certifications and licences. He has managed many projects both on Waste management facilities and on Construction sites which includes; Waste Management Planning and Strategy Development  ▪ Waste Reductions techniques ▪ Control and Reporting ▪ Waste Collection/ Transportation/Waste Disposal methods. Quality Monitoring-Compliance and Waste Management Auditing ▪ Site and Facility Inspection ▪ Complaints/Query Handling ▪ Investigating Waste Management Issues ▪ Facility Control and Management. Risk Assessment, Health and Safety Policies, COSHH, Safe Working Practices, Accident Reporting and Environmental Auditing. As an Appointed Person (AP)   Completing Lift Plan preparations and associated Risk Assessments,  Managing and controlling lifts, Overseeing lift supervisors, riggers and slingers to assure controlled and successful lifts throughout and  Liaising directly with the client's lead AP to obtain approval for documentation & planning of lifts. Peter has returned to Cranfield University to a PhD in Waste Management

Current activities


Peter is carrying out his PhD research within Cranfield School of Water, Energy and Environment, His research focuses on "Analysis of barriers and challenges to Sustainable Solid Waste Management. A case study of Lagos, Nigeria". Key objectives within the proposed study include: Analysis of data to determine waste stream composition for engineered solutions; Examination of logistics f or the current waste collection system; Review waste management policy in the context the local and national economic objectives; Model total waste flows to unregulated landfills to determine calorific and CO2 emission values; Examine economic solutions with greatest impact to improve public health at minimal cost;
