Background

Mennatullah Shehata graduated from Ain Shams University with a bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery. She then joined Cranfield University to study for an MSc in Applied Bioinformatics. She has experience in machine learning and computer vision.

Current activities

"Monitoring tropical pollinators in conventional and organic fruit orchards in central Thailand". (Research Assistant). This project is seeking to investigate the effect of pesticide use on native pollinators in South East Asia by combining analytical laboratory techniques and deep learning.

"Developing a Novel Testing Methodology for Honey Authentication". (Research Assistant). The aim of this project is to develop a rapid testing method for exogenous sugar detection in honey based on molecular markers and rapid sensor technologies.
