Chilver Hall is a modern hall of residence and ideal if you would like a single en suite room with kitchen facilities.

Chilver Hall is made up of two blocks of accommodation for full-time students and located only a short distance away from Lanchester Hall reception, the sports hall and tennis courts. Car parking is available and sheltered bicycle racks are also located close to the buildings.

No smoking is permitted in any part of Chilver Hall.

Our accommodation is managed in accordance with Universities UK Code of Practice for University Managed Accommodation.

Fees (2024-25 academic session)

  • Chilver Hall, en suite, self-catered room: £26.48 per day.

Bedrooms

The rooms in Chilver Hall are all standard en suite rooms, which are 13m2 in size.

Each bedroom is fully furnished with the following:

  • Wireless internet facilities

There are a total of 106 single bedrooms in Chilver Hall.


Catering

Chilver Hall is a self-catered hall of residence and has kitchen facilities which are shared between the five or seven students who live in each flat.

The kitchens are equipped with the following:

  • Fridge freezer
  • Cooker
  • Microwave
  • Toaster and kettle
  • Crockery, cooking and eating utensils

Bathrooms

All rooms in Chilver Hall have a private bathroom with:

  • a toilet and washbasin
  • a shower
  • a mirror

Cleaning

We carry out weekly cleaning of the communal areas such as kitchens and corridors.

Heating and electricity

The heating is usually on from October to April.
