Cranfield village and surrounding areas
Located on the other side of the Cranfield campus airfield, Cranfield village is a very popular student accommodation option, with a good choice of privately-rented houses, flats and lodgings. You can cycle to the campus on the dedicated cycle path in 10 minutes, arrive by bus in 5 minutes or walk in 30 minutes. An attractive village, Cranfield offers a wide range of amenities, including supermarkets, takeaway restaurants, a chemist, post office and hairdresser. In addition to searching for accommodation in Cranfield, you may also want to consider other popular nearby villages including Wootton (15 minutes via the Uno bus) and North Crawley (10 minutes by cycle).
Milton Keynes and surrounding areas
The vibrant, modern city of Milton Keynes is just 11.2km from Cranfield University. The Uno bus journey (see 'Transport links' below) from Milton Keynes to Cranfield University takes approximately 30 minutes. A truly cosmopolitan city, Milton Keynes combines 4,500 acres of parkland, lakes, rivers and woodland with a unique design and offers everything from extreme sports to top shopping and fine dining. Popular local areas to search for accommodation include Broughton (6.7km away from the University and 15 minutes via the Uno bus) and Monkston (10km and 23 minutes via the Uno bus).
Bedford and surrounding areas
The historic, riverside town of Bedford is 17.6km away from the University, or 40 minutes via the Uno bus (see 'Transport links' below). Located on the banks of the beautiful River Great Ouse, Bedford offers a wide range of parks, riverside walks, sports and leisure activities. Other popular residential areas close to Bedford to search for are Kempston (14.2km from the University, 35 minutes via the Uno bus) and Wootton (8.9km from the University, 30 minutes via the Uno bus).
