Watch back

“If you want to be a successful leader in today’s business world, you need to think like an activist.” A new kind of leadership in business is urgently needed- what does this look like and how can we cultivate it in ourselves and our organisations?

Join us online for a Sustainability Network Speaker Series session featuring a conversation with Lucy Parker, co-author of 'The Activist Leader' and 'Everybody’s Business'. Lucy believes that to be a successful business leader in today's world you are expected to deliver societal value alongside financial value. This takes a new mindset: the ability to think like an activist about the role your business plays in the world. She's passionate about the idea of a new breed of business leaders who tackle challenges in fresh ways. Lucy draws on her latest book, and her wealth of experience as co-founder of Brunswick Group ESG and Sustainable Business practice, to share her belief in the power of the activist mindset to drive change for yourself, your business, and society at large.

Take part in the conversation through a Q&A session moderated by Dr Rosina Watson, Head of Sustainable Business Group at Cranfield University.

Sustainability Network Speaker Series

The Sustainability Network Speaker Series is the platform for our network of Cranfield students, faculty, staff, and alumni, our partners in industry and sustainability enthusiasts to hear from thought leaders across all sectors. The series is a chance to delve into a sustainability-related hot topic and explore the challenges and opportunities in embedding sustainability in various areas of industry. We typically host panels and lectures with a mix of thought leaders, sustainability and industry professionals, government, NGOs and academe to seed this discussion. Every session has an opportunity for you to ask questions and get involved in the discussion, as well as a chance to connect with other like-minded people.
