Background

Following the completion of his degree in Polymer Engineering, Ahmad commenced his professional journey as an Assistant Technical Manager in the Coating Industry. Concurrently, Ahmad pursued and successfully obtained a Master of Science degree through research in Polymer Science and Engineering from NTU, Pakistan. Driven by a profound interest and passion for the domain of Paints & Coatings, Ahmad planned to embark on a Ph.D. journey. His doctoral research focuses on examining the effect of fireside corrosion on thermal spray coatings for optimizing protective systems in sustainable WtE power plants. This comprehensive, full-time Ph.D. (sponsored by Welding Alloys Group) program will enhance both his theoretical understanding and practical skills, laying the foundation for a successful career as an R&D engineer specializing in materials.

Drawing on Ahmad's current part-time role as a "Group Innovation Engineer" at Welding Alloy Group (WAG), He actively collaborates with R&D engineers. He finds immense value in weekly brainstorming meetings with his supervisors, where innovative ideas are generated and applied to address erosion corrosion and wear related challenges worldwide. This experience reinforces his strong inclination towards projects with a robust research component, highlighting his commitment to providing solutions with integrity.
