Background
Ahmad began his professional journey in the coatings industry after completing a degree in Polymer Engineering. His passion for paints and coatings led him to pursue a research-based Master's in Polymer Science and Engineering at NTU, Pakistan. Motivated by a strong interest in materials innovation, he is currently undertaking a full-time, industry-sponsored Ph.D. focused on optimizing thermal spray coatings to combat fireside corrosion in waste-to-energy (WtE) power plants.
Alongside his doctoral research, Ahmad works part-time as a Group Innovation Engineer at Welding Alloy Group, where he collaborates closely with global R&D teams. He contributes to technical strategy sessions, developing practical solutions to real-world challenges in erosion, corrosion, and wear. His work reflects a deep commitment to research-driven engineering with a focus on sustainable industrial performance.
