This course introduces Mesh generation techniques using ANSYS Icem CFD and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling with ANSYS Fluent. Multi-phase flows problems related mainly to the oil & gas sector will be covered during this short three-day course.

Multi-phase flows models (VOF, Euler-Euler & Mixture) will be applied to solve simplified industry-related problems, providing methods and capabilities for delegates to further train on their own and be able to generate advanced numerical flow simulations.

The number or delegates will be reduced to ensure a better interaction with the instructor.

Course structure

This course is delivered through a balanced combination of lectures and practical sessions over 3 days. Hand-on the software will be prioritised with numerous practical sessions on industrial engineering problems.

What you will learn

This 3-day course will give you the ability to run multi-phase flow simulations via a commercial flow solver.

Learn how to run CFD simulations from scratch, starting with the problem definition, geometry and mesh generation, define boundary conditions, then apply flow settings and solve for the flow.

Core content

  • Short general Introduction to CFD,
  • Introduction to Mesh Generation Methods (Icem CFD),
  • Introduction to Flow Solver (FLUENT),
  • Multiphase flow models (VOF, Euler, Mixture),
  • Application to real engineering problems,
  • Post-processing and Visualisation.

Who should attend

This course will be of particular interest to engineers, industry delegates and postgraduate researchers of the oil/gas and energy sector with no prior experience in Computational Multiphase Flow Dynamics.

Partnerships

ANSYS will support this course. Delegates will have full access to the professional ANSYS suite edition, including ICEM CFD, ANSYS Meshing, FLUENT, CFD-POST for the whole duration of the course.

Concessions

10% discount applies if booked 8 weeks in advance.
