Family homes

If you are a full-time student and your child(ren) will be accompanying you for the full duration of your course, you are eligible to apply for our family accommodation. We have a selection of fully furnished houses.

Family houses are very popular and an early application is strongly recommended.

Application and allocation

When you make your application for family accommodation we will ask you for your family’s details, such as the name(s) and date(s) of birth of your child(ren). If we are able to make you an offer of family accommodation we will use this information to allocate the most appropriate size of house in accordance with our housing allocation policy.

Please note: Due to the high demand for family homes on-campus, if your accommodation application is successful, the property will only be available to you for one year. If the duration of your course is longer than one year, you will need to find alternative accommodation off campus after your first year of study.

Two bedroom houses

Suitable for students with a spouse or partner and one child, or two children under the age of five, our two bedroom houses are terraced and fully furnished.

Kitchen	The kitchen (approximately 9.1m²) is equipped with: a cooker fridge/freezer dining table and four chairs storage cupboards toaster and kettle plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, eating utensils, pots, pans and basic cooking utensils
Lounge	The lounge is furnished with: coffee table 2-seater sofa x 2
Bedrooms	Upstairs are two bedrooms. The large bedroom (approximately 17m²) contains: bedside cabinet double bed wardrobe desk and chair The second bedroom (approximately 9.3m²) contains: small chest of drawers single bed bedside cabinet
Bathroom	The bathroom is located upstairs and features: bath and shower wash basin and toilet

Utilities

All houses have wireless internet connectivity. Charges for gas, electricity and water are included in your accommodation fees.

Other information

We have a no smoking policy in all family houses.

Rates (2024-25 academic session)

Two-bedroom houses: £36.09 per day including gas, electricity and water. These rates are for 2024-25 and all rates are subject to change for 2025-26.

Three bedroom houses

Our three bedroom houses are suitable for full-time students with a spouse or partner, and two children over the age of five and of a different gender, or three children.

Kitchen	The kitchen is fully furnished and equipped with: a cooker fridge/freezer dining table and chairs storage cupboard toaster and kettle plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, eating utensils, pots, pans and basic cooking utensils
Lounge	The lounge (approximately 13.5m²) is furnished with: coffee table 2-seater sofa x 2
Bedrooms	Upstairs are three bedrooms. The large bedroom (approximately 12.9m²) features: double bed bedside cabinets wardrobe chest of drawers The medium bedroom (approximately 10.2m²) has: two single beds beside cabinet wardrobe The small bedroom (approximately 6.8m²) has: desk and chair If you have three children there will be an additional single bed in the small bedroom.
Bathroom	The bathroom is located upstairs and features: bath and shower toilet and washbasin

Utilities

Standard three bedroom house: £44.54 per day including gas, electricity and water.

Large three bedroom house: £49.15 per day including gas, electricity and water.

Four bedroom houses

We have one four bedroom house on campus, which is suitable for a full-time student with a spouse or partner and three children over the age of five, and of a different gender, or four to five children.

Kitchen	The kitchen is equipped with: cooker fridge/freezer dining table and chairs storage cupboards toaster and kettle plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, eating utensils, pots, pans and basic cooking utensils
Lounge	The lounge is furnished with: 2-seater sofa x 2 coffee table
Bedrooms	Upstairs are four bedrooms. The large bedroom is furnished with: double bed wardrobe chest of drawers bedside cabinets The remaining three bedrooms are each furnished with: single bed wardrobe chest of drawers One of the bedrooms, usually the smallest bedroom, also has: desk and chair.
Bathroom	The bathroom is located upstairs and features: bath and shower toilet and wash basin
