What was Cranfield's impact
Giorgio is a doctoral researcher in financial economics. Prior to starting his PhD, he had completed an MSc with us. Giorgio describes the MSc year as “a key step towards my goal of becoming a respected academic at a top university”, since he feels that the programme helped him develop a solid knowledge in finance and management.
After graduating, Giorgio worked as an analyst for the Global Financial Services Industry (GFSI) division of Deloitte Italy.
In June 2013, he was offered a scholarship to undertake a doctorate at Cranfield under the supervision of Dr Catarina Figueira, Director of the Centre. This was on the role that ownership structure plays in the transmission of monetary policy via the risk decisions of financial intermediaries. Giorgio views a PhD from Cranfield as “an unparalleled springboard for my future academic career."
