Professor Stephanie Hussels is a visiting academic at Cranfield School of Management and the inaugural Sir Peter Cullum Chair in Entrepreneurship at Bayes Business School, City St George’s, University of London. During nearly 20 years at Cranfield, she served as Director of the Bettany Centre for Entrepreneurship, Director of the Business Transformation and Growth Theme, and Director of the Full-time MBA.
Stephanie is passionate about supporting entrepreneurs and owner-managers on their growth journeys, with a particular interest in family businesses. She founded Cranfield VentureDay, spearheaded the development of the Cranfield Seed Fund, and helped build the Bettany Centre’s portfolio of programmes supporting businesses from start-up through growth to exit, including leading and teaching on the Business Growth Programme.
An award-winning educator and case writer, she teaches entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial finance, family business and research methods at executive, postgraduate and doctoral levels. She has taught internationally, and her teaching cases have been purchased by more than 40 institutions worldwide. Her research focuses on entrepreneurial growth, resilience, and family businesses. Her publications include work in Harvard Business Review, Small Business Economics, and the International Journal of Management Reviews. She has supervised nine PhD and DBA students to successful completion.
Stephanie is Chair of The Case Centre, a Non-Executive Director of Cambridge Cleantech, and a regular mentor, speaker and judge for entrepreneurship and business awards.
