Sue Garrard

Background

Until recently, Sue was Global Executive Vice President for Sustainable Business Development and Communications at Unilever where she was key in implementing the ground-breaking Unilever Sustainable Living Plan, and positioning it as a driver of growth, brand purpose, employee engagement and future-proofing within the company. She has also held senior communications roles in the public sector; her most recent role prior to Unilever was as Director General for Customer Strategy and Communications at the Department of Work and Pensions. Sue was one of the founders of the independent not for profit organisation, Blueprint for Better Business, and is an active Trustee. Sue is now an independent sustainability strategy advisor and Senior Associate of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership where she teaches regularly.
