Contact Dr Kim Lafferty

Background

Kim completed her doctorate at Cranfield University in 2022. She has an MA in Management Learning from Lancaster University in the UK, a BA (Hons) in Politics from York University, UK and a Diploma in Organisation Development from the NTL Institute, USA.

Her doctoral research focussed on how talent management influences employees' perceptions of organisational justice. Her current research interests include how HR policies and systems influence employee engagement, the implications of the evolving external context on managing people and the changing world of work.

Kim's capabilities are in learning, leadership and organisation development. Her career includes working in a diverse range of industries including food retailing, civil engineering and construction and professional services. Her most recent role, which she held for 12 years, was Vice President People Effectiveness for GlaxoSmithKline. Here she was responsible for the learning and development curriculum that was available to 100,000 employees located in over 100 countries. She also has experience of working with leaders and employees at all levels, including Board and Executive Committee members.

Kim has won numerous external awards from prestigious organisations for the global leadership development programmes she has designed and implemented, and internal awards from senior stakeholders who recognised the positive impact of her work for employees and the organisation.
