Background

Prior to joining academia, Michelle held a number of senior management finance roles in Canada, Europe and Asia. She has over 20 years of senior leadership experience in a number of different sectors leading business growth, driving profitability improvements, establishing and scaling operations and building operationally focused teams.

Research opportunities

Michelle’s research interests lie at the intersection of corporate governance and leadership, in particular diversity in leadership. Michelle completed her Doctorate of Business Administration at Cranfield University, conducting a study examining the role of women on boards in improving gender diversity in senior executive levels.

Current activities

Currently Michelle is a Visiting Professor with Cranfield’s School of Management, a consultant and a non-executive director for an agri-business in Canada. Michelle is a Certified Management Accountant, received her MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business in Canada and is a member of the British Academy of Management.
