Background
Josephine Chikwana is a PhD Candidate in Leadership and Management at the Cranfield School of Management, researching the relationship between social enterprises and corporate entities.
Prior to coming to Cranfield University, Josephine studied for her MSc in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Edinburgh Business School, as a MasterCard Foundation Scholar. Her MSc dissertation at Edinburgh examined perceptions of Intrapreneurial competences among entrepreneurship education graduates. She also holds a B.Ed in Business Studies (with Distinction) from the University of Malawi, The Polytechnic.
Josephine's work experience includes consultancy work at the Scotland-Malawi Partnership, the MasterCard Foundation Scholars Programme Team at Edinburgh, Link Education International, Scotland, and as a teacher at St Andrews International High School in Malawi.
She is also a founder of a small social enterprise called Move To Improve that focuses on collaborating with corporate entities through their CSR programmes to address various social needs in Malawi.

Current activities
Josephine is interested in understanding how corporates and social enterprises engage in strategic actions that foster successful partnerships. Her research is currently focusing on social procurement particularly from the corporate perspective.
