Background
Dr. Arevuo is Senior Lecturer in Strategic Decision Making and Political Economy.
His background includes business practitioner experience in global financial services and management consulting with organizations such as JP Morgan Chase, Bank of America, and Citibank. His scholarship interests and teaching expertise are in strategic group decision-making processes, classical political economy, and the application of visual methods in organizational research. In addition to academic work, Dr Arevuo has consulted widely in the UK's public and private sectors and with Fortune 500 companies as a facilitator, providing evidence-based tools and frameworks to support strategic decision-making processes. He is also a member of the Academic Advisory Council at The Institute of Economic Affairs, a UK-based free-market think-tank founded in 1955 to improve understanding of the fundamental institutions of a free society by analyzing and expounding the role of markets in solving economic and social problems.
A native of Finland, Dr Arevuo earned a BA in Economics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and an MBA and PhD from Cranfield University. He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Senior Fellow of the Institute of Management, and a Member of the Society of Professional Economists.
