Background

Dr Fatima Tresh leads EY UK's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusiveness (DE&I) Strategy and Implementation. In her role, she advises and consults the business to meet its ambitious DE&I objectives. Fatima is also a member of the Parker Review Committee where she advises on and delivers against the Review's purpose and scope to ethnically diversify UK boards and businesses.

A business psychologist, Fatima completed her PhD at the Centre for the Study of Group Processes, University of Kent, where she examined shifting standards in the evaluation of women's leadership potential and implications for gender diversity in business leadership. Starting her career in academia, she has expertise in identity, ingroup-outgroup dynamics, organisational politics, leadership development, and organisational culture.

Fatima's expertise has been sought to provide insights and shape the approach to pertinent topics in DE&I. She has co-authored a review of unconscious bias training for the Equality and Human Rights Commission as well as reviews into FTSE 350 annual reporting on ethnic diversity and pipeline initiatives for the Financial Reporting Council and Parker Review. She has contributed to research for the General Medical Council on ethnic disproportionality in Fitness-to-Practice referrals. In 2019, she produced Cranfield's 'Women to Watch' list - the first to be focused solely on spotlighting ethnic minority women.

Previously a consultant for FTSE 350 and large private companies across sectors, Fatima has translated her academic insights into practice. She has gained a reputation for her evidence-based and impact-led approach to design and implementation of DE&I strategy and solutions for clients.
