Alicen Nickson has been appointed as the new Director of Research and Innovation at Cranfield University. She will take up her role in October 2021.

Alicen will be joining Cranfield from Royal Holloway University, where she is currently Director of Research and Innovation.

Previously, Alicen worked as Deputy Director for Brunel University's Research and Development Office and serves as an Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Research Management and Administration.

Professor Leon Terry, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Research and Innovation (elect) at Cranfield University, said: "I'm delighted that Alicen will be joining us, as we look to elevate our ambitions further and position Cranfield as the UK's applied research powerhouse.

"She has tremendous experience of developing business partnerships, knowledge exchange and transformational research projects.

"I am looking forward to her bringing her skills to Cranfield and helping lead our Research and Innovation Office team."
