Background

Dakun completed his Master of Science in Computer Science at Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria, following a Bachelor of Science in the same field from the University of Jos, Nigeria. He is presently engaged in doctoral research within the Department of Computational Engineering Sciences.

Research opportunities

Dakun’s research explores the frontiers of computational intelligence, focusing on Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), and CUDA programming for High-Performance Computing (HPC). His work aims to develop advanced algorithms and models that leverage the capabilities of these technologies to extract meaningful insights from large volumes of textual data.

His research focuses on theoretical advancements and practical applications in Machine Learning and Deep Learning. Dakuns' research involves exploring novel neural network architectures to address complex problems in sentiment analysis. His work in this area pushes the boundaries of what machines can learn from data and investigates how they can learn more efficiently and effectively.

His research interest also involves CUDA programming to enhance computational performance and scalability in high-performance computing environments. By optimising algorithms to leverage the parallel processing capabilities of GPUs, his work significantly reduces computation times for data-intensive tasks, which is crucial for real-time data processing applications.

Current activities

Dakun is currently a researcher at Cranfield University. He is looking at developing a novel deep-learning algorithm that utilises the computing capabilities of GPUs to obtain knowledge from huge textual data. His research also leverages the efficient computation that High-Performance Computing provides.
