We conduct multidisciplinary research providing the technologies, processes, people and information required for competitive design of products and services. Our uniqueness is achieved through a combination of research in manufacturing informatics, lean product and process development, creativity and innovation, cost engineering and through-life engineering services.
Our research activities in these areas are conducted in partnership with industry. We also host the pan-university Centre for Competitive Creative Design (C4D) that aims to embed state-of-the-art design-led innovation practice within business and education.
The objective of our EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Through-life Engineering Services is to coordinate and provide the research capability for the creation of high value engineering systems based on design and manufacturing for through-life engineering services. We also have an Integrated Vehicle Health Management (IVHM) Centre.
