What was Cranfield's impact

Learning control systems, mechatronics concepts and the related assignments. After Cranfield I got straight into an internship and the company where I was working offered me a full time employment position as an analyst, I then got promoted to a senior analyst after six months. My role is to go into companies and bring them visibility of their expenditure in different categories such as marketing, logistics and human resources. We are helping them to be more efficient at spending their money, so getting more out of what they currently spend. My job is to analyse their current use and then I propose a negotiation strategy and see where they could stop spending money to help them to be more efficient.

What I applied from the Cranfield experience into my current job is many of the tools that we were given. It can be as famous as Porter’s five forces, so applying that to the business to see where the strengths are in the economy and to see what your situation is in the market. There are also many other tools that you can tweak to try and get them to work with the company – that is exactly what Cranfield has given me.

The best thing about my course and Cranfield in general, is the experience it gives you. The teachers were always asking us to reflect. It is easy to get knowledge from the classes, but to reflect on it and apply it to the future is more difficult, and that is what they do here at Cranfield. It is something great that you can take away with you and apply it to your future career. What I liked the most was the people who are here, it is not only British people, it is international, all different cultures where you can build good relationships.
