What was Cranfield's impact

One thing that would always bug me while I was on the course was always wanting good grades, but I think it is important to be able to understand what you are doing instead of just getting a good grade. There is no point getting a good grade and not being able to apply what you have actually done. I will give you a good example – I think managing operations was the subject I did the worst in; I got 53% which I was disappointed in. However, the first thing I did on the job was make a process flow diagram which I suggested to the boss. This did not exist within the company or within my department, and now they are using my diagram to educate other departments in other countries. I think that was the first thing I did when I joined the company that Cranfield helped me do.

At the moment yes, I am working for a big company, but my business unit is entrepreneurial, we do everything from designing, the graphics and promotional activities. When I was on the course I could apply every single thing I was taught into a business situation. It also helped that I had some work experience. Everything on the course was really insightful and I think people should go in with an open mind, when they come onto the course, and see how everything can apply to what they did in the past and what it can apply to in the future.

I love Cranfield because it helped me get my dream job. Even though I do not have my own business yet, I know Cranfield will support that. I am in the early stages of putting together a business proposal and I know Cranfield will support that in the future as well. I think the support you get is amazing and the social capital is great too. I think people really underestimate being able to call people and get in contact with the greatest minds. I think that is what I love about Cranfield the most, the support you get and the way it allowed me to grow as an individual.
