Mitchell Hall is a catered hall of residence, which means there are no kitchen facilities; however, a number of ‘kitchenettes’ with a shared fridge, microwave and a kettle are available for residents and are perfect for preparing snacks or light meals.
For the 2018-19 session you will receive a meal card with a food allowance of £8.40 per day, which is sufficient for at least one main meal. Your meal card will be loaded with the appropriate amount of credit at the beginning of each month, enabling you to manage the balance to suit your own requirements.
Our meal cards may be used in the Reggie's restaurant located in Mitchell Hall; in Cranberries, which is located in the Stafford-Cripps building, and Cafe 52, which is located in the Vincent building.
Most of the rooms have shared bathroom facilities which are shared between 4 and 8 residents. The toilets and showers are separated.
The en suite rooms have:
- their own shower or bath
- wash hand basin and toilet.
We carry out weekly cleaning of all the communal areas.
