The areas of research within the Centre for Logistics, Procurement and Supply Chain Management (CLPSCM) attracts annual funding in excess of £500,000 through research council, government and industrial sources. We perform a variety of research from long-term, research council funded projects which focus on the generation of new knowledge to dedicated, industrially funded work that addresses specific needs.

Within CLSCM we also have the Agile Supply Chain Research Club (ASCRC) which was founded in 1998.  The aim of our ASCRC is to improve supply chain management by creating a collaborative forum where member companies and Cranfield University faculty can share knowledge and experience on promising supply chain practices.

We also have our Reverse Logistics Forum.  This is a team made up of colleagues from Cranfield School of Management and Sheffield Business School. Our work together goes back to 2005 and we initially produced a first edition of the Reverse Logistics Toolkit as far back as 2008. We have now updated it to particularly take into account the emergence of omni-channel retailing and the implications for reverse logistics operations in retailing. Our focus is specifically on the management of customer returns and the associated activities throughout the whole supply chain. Our objectives are to enhance both profitability and customer service through the supply chain.
