Working in partnership with Green Future Investments Limited (GFIL), Cranfield is proud to deliver investment support to innovators and entrepreneurs seeking to address the challenges of climate change.

The GFIL Fund portfolio provides funding to innovators and entrepreneurs that are developing sustainable solutions to environmental challenges, via the provision of practical and business support from Cranfield. As part of this initiative 24 fully funded scholarships are available to green businesses to cover the full course fees for Cranfield’s highly regarded Ready for Net Zero Growth programme and a follow on carbon audit 12 months after completion of the programme to assess their progress against their plan.

The Ready for Net Zero Growth programme helps business leaders to take a leap in the growth trajectory of their business with a focus on embedding your business’ Net Zero ambitions within your growth plan. This course is held online over 18 weeks and includes self-paced online learning and tutorials and one to one coaching with specialist business growth and carbon experts.

Scholarship eligibility

  • Applicants must be employed by a registered business with more than 5 but less than 250 staff.
  • Businesses can be registered in any country, but the proposed course attendee must be able to attend online sessions between 9am-4pm GMT – Monday to Friday – see the Ready for Net Zero Growth programme page for exact course timings.

To be considered to be a ‘green business’ for the purposes of this application the business must be:

  • Committed to the principles of environmental sustainability in its operations and seeking to minimise negative environmental impact through its activities, and
  • Seeking to work on a growth plan during the programme which will address an aspect of climate change and/or one or more of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, and
  • Committed to completing the Ready for Net Zero Growth Programme and implementing the business growth and carbon reduction plans that are developed as a result of this programme, and
  • Prepared to undertake a carbon audit of their activities with the support of Cranfield 12 months after completion the Ready for Net Zero Growth Programme.

On successful completion of this programme applicants will also have the opportunity to seek further funding via the GFIL Fund such as the Green Seed Fund and Technology Accelerator Fund.
