David Grayson, Emeritus Professor of Corporate Responsibility in Cranfield School of Management, was last week honoured with the Responsible Business Honouree Award.
David was presented with the award at the Reuters Responsible Business Awards 2021, which were held virtually.
David was Professor of Corporate Responsibility and the director of the Doughty Centre for Corporate Responsibility from 2007 to 2017. He continues to teach on a number of the University’s MBA, executive MBA and specialist Masters programmes and supports the School of Management’s Sustainability Group.
Commenting on his award, Professor Grayson said:
“I am chuffed to receive this award and the very generous recognition from colleagues in business, civil society and academia.
One of my younger, more irreverent friends did ask if this meant I was getting old, but I quickly disabused him and reassured him that there is still plenty more fight and campaigning energy still in me, as we work to ensure that 9-10 billion people can live reasonably well within the constraints of one planet by mid-century.”
David takes this award alongside Mindy Lubbers, CEO of CERES in the USA. Previous recipients of the Responsible Business Honouree Award include Mark Carney the former Governor of the Bank of England; sustainability guru John Elkington; the ex-CEO of Unilever Paul Polman; and Christiana Figueres, who led the successful UN Paris Climate Conference in 2015.
The Reuters Responsible Business Awards are described as the ‘world’s leading awards celebrating leadership in sustainable businesses. For the past 12 years, these awards have served as the benchmark for businesses worldwide.’
