Cranfield School of Management’s MBA programme has been ranked first in the world for economics in the Financial Times 2017 Full Time Global MBA ranking (published 30 January).
The School’s Economics group, which has been headed by Professor Joe Nellis since 1994, has long been a foundation of the Cranfield MBA. Professor Nellis said: ”We are delighted to be recognised as number one in the world in this important ranking. We live in a truly global world and at Cranfield we have always prided ourselves in making sure that we give our students the best possible education when it comes to understanding the global economy. We are privileged to have some exceptional faculty from around the world who really bring the issues to life for our students.”
Professor Nellis went on to say: “The fact that this section of the ranking is based on the views of our alumni makes it even more significant.”
Overall the School’s MBA programme has risen to 53 – up four places from last year. Professor Maury Peiperl Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Director of the School commented: “I must congratulate Joe and the economics group on this fantastic result which is testament to their hard work, dedication and passion for the subject.
“As the world continues to face economic challenges on multiple fronts, our teaching around global economics has never been more important. As we have seen in recent years the global economy is an uncertain force and we aim to make sure that our students are equipped with all the tools and knowledge they need to go out and make a real difference in the world”.
“Cranfield is one of the pioneers of MBA programmes in Europe and it is through our unique approach to management education and personal development that we remain highly ranked in the major league tables.”
The School was also ranked 9th in the world for value for money.
