I combine an in depth knowledge of the agri-food chain including its domestic and international trading environments with a passion for business efficiency. My education, experiences and personality have nurtured my people skills enabling me to lead, focus and motivate individuals to work as a team to meet a defined set of objectives. I blend strategic thinking with a good, practical understanding of the challenges facing farming and its supply chains (domestic and international) in the twenty first century; in particular the trilemma of food security, sustainable development and climate change. I am committed to a modern food system and believe efficient farm businesses not only lie at the heart of a well performing, integrated supply chain but also offer the potential to minimise the demands food production make on natural resources while enhancing the amenity value of the environment. I have a strong, academic background, extensive communications and media experience including a recognised reputation for public speaking.
