Background

Before joining the Cranfield University School of Management as a research student, Mustapha works with the Central Bank Of Nigeria - Development Finance Department. He has twelve years of experience as a civil servant between the Bank and Nigeria's Federal Ministry of Finance. His experience traverses development financing, fiscal policy and administration, and a spectrum of project monitoring and evaluation of government credit intervention.

His educational background includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in finance & Investment from Ahmadu Bello University, a Master of Science degree in Development Economics from the University of Birmingham, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Maiduguri.

Mustapha’s research focuses on the interconnectivity between digital financing, financial inclusion, and SME performance. The aim is to investigate how emerging digital financing options empower financial inclusion and the performance of formal and informal SMEs with a focus on developing countries.
