Background

Julian has an honours degree in product and furniture design (1997) from Goldsmiths' College, University of London, an MBA (2006) from Cranfield and a Postgraduate Certificate of Education (2010) with Qualified Teacher Status, England and Wales. 


Current activities

Julian Glyn-Owen is a commercial innovation consultant and a Visiting Fellow to Cranfield School of Management. His current work within innovation includes modular building systems, new product design and manufacturing and lecturing on executive programs.

Julian's career is truly international, with projects and sales in North America, Southern and Western Africa, Far East Asia and the Pacific region. He has recently contributed to commercial research projects in the areas of identifying customers' hidden needs in education, leisure, healthcare and construction.

When teaching executives, Julian's topics include industrial design for managers, innovation management and business strategy. His six years of experience in facilitating teamwork in executive education often combines with his commercial consulting work with clients. Julian founded his own company, Aluris Limited, through which he delivers commercial innovation services.
