Contact Jan Willem Zwarteveen
Background
Jan Willem has a passion for renewable energy and developing countries. In developing countries, he experienced the big impact economic growth has on the population and the important role of technology. In the words of Muhammad Yunus: “while technology is important, it’s what we do with it that truly matters”. Jan Willem is an advocate of making profit and improving livelihoods through it. Along his journey, he obtained a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree (Cum Laude) in Mechanical Engineering at Delft University of Technology. Parts of his curriculum took place at Stellenbosch University, University of Utrecht, and Stanford University. He is currently working on his doctoral research in the field of energy transition and emerging markets, taking the perspective of the OEM. Besides his research, Jan Willem is the Managing Director in the Philippines for one of the leading wind power OEMs.
