Background

Gemma is working with the Sustainability Group as creative lead, to develop a systemic learning experience and leadership journey for business executives for the classroom and inside business. Transforming the 'Exploring Sustainable Futures Game' (developed via the EU-InnovatE research project 2013-2016) into an immersive, serious play experience that challenges mindsets and assumptions - and enables leaders to practice how to navigate complexity.

Gemma is a deeply skilled and experienced design strategist and systems change specialist, with seventeen years' experience partnering with organisations on sustainability in the UK and internationally. She joins in-house teams - or convene 'pop-up' freelance teams - to support organisations to tackle big challenges with clarity and purpose. She enables groups to innovate in ways that navigate the complexities of our changing world, give expression to their values, nurture relationships and (re)vitalise our future.

Current activities

She leads, facilitates, coaches and contributes research towards strategy development processes and the launch of new initiatives. To do this, she draws on a wide range of tools and approaches that include design and systems thinking, futures, Theory-U and systemic constellations. She is a certified Warm Data Lab Host.

Gemma works in partnership with organisations across sectors, mainly through trusted relationships and word-of-mouth recommendations. The list includes: philanthropic trusts and foundations, NGOs/ CSOs, social enterprises, universities, think tanks, central and local government, global corporations, consumer brands and industry associations.
