Background

Wayne Nelson is a Visiting Fellow at Cranfield School of Management. He is also an Honorary Visiting Fellow at the Bayes School of Business, City, University of London. Wayne is a Senior Partner at Deloitte Consulting and leads its strategy practice, Monitor Deloitte, in EMEA.

He is Founding Dean of the Deloitte Executive Leadership Institute, a readiness program for next generation CEOs. He was previously a Partner at the Monitor Group and Managing Director of its German and Swiss operations.

Wayne holds degrees from Georgetown University and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and has his PhD from Cranfield University. He is also an active member of the Strategic Management Society and the Academy of Management.

Current activities

Wayne is broadly interested in strategy and transformation, consulting to management, and in the role of the CEO. His research interests relate to intentionality, strategic intent, and managerial cognition.

Clients

Wayne manages a portfolio of Deloitte client accounts in the medical technology and pharmaceutical markets and supports the delivery of strategy, risk, digitalization, and ESG transformation programs. In addition, he has gained broad executive teaching experience, with a focus on next generation CEOs, e.g. from retail, food, packaging, e-commerce, technology, testing & inspection & certification, hospitality, banking, insurance, government, and more, on such topics as the role of the CEO, CEO-Board relations, CEO selection processes, executive team building, and transformation and change.
