Background

Thomas is Managing Director of Systemic Risk Partners Ltd, an international consultancy specializing in global-level risks in the banking and financial services industries. His research during his visiting fellowship at Cranfield University SOM is focussed on the evolution of Risk Management into a more holistic approach to the combined management of threats and opportunities.

He has also provided management consulting services over a twenty year period on behalf of the Dublin Lab of IBM to Banking clients worldwide, as the principal consultant and solution developer for IBM's BDW (Banking Data Warehouse) solution offerings. In that role he worked jointly with the lab to specify and develop the BDW offering of business models, solution architectures, systems components and technology infrastructures. Then he led the implementation of 'first-of-kind' solution implementations such as IBM's first BASEL II regulatory compliance implementation worldwide at Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore. He also developed and provided training courses to IBM employees and clients at their home locations worldwide.
