Contact Dr Juanxi Wang


Juanxi (Jessie) is Lecturer (US: Assistant professor) in Financial Economics. She is also a visiting scholar at the University of Amsterdam. Prior to join Cranfield School of Management, Juanxi has done research and worked in various universities from 5 different countries across the world, such as University of Amsterdam, Bielefeld University, University of Cambridge, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow Caledonian University, and Heriot-Watt University. She also worked as business analyst for business intelligence industry. 

Current activities

Juanxi teaches quantitative and economic related modules across a range of MSc, MBA, Executive MBA, Executive MSc and PhD program. She is the module leader of Quantitative research for PhD program. 

Juanxi has published in peer-reviewed top academic journals such as Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control. She is a frequent contributor to a wide range of international conferences. She serves as reviewer for several academic journals, such as Scottish Journal of political economics, Emerging markets finance and trade, Chinese management studies and Journal of mathematical finance…. Her research focus on time series analysis, applied econometrics, behavioural finance and agent-based models.  She is particularly interested on the instability of financial market. She contributes to understanding the systematic instability of housing market by developing new statistical methods. Her latest work analyses the links between investors’ behaviour/expectations/trading strategies and the movement of asset pricing, as well as their external incentives. She is also very interested on the impact of digital innovation on economic and financial systems.

Juanxi supervises master and PhD students who are familiar with data and programming, and are interested on financial or housing market. Suggested research area: Time series analysis, applied econometrics and behavioural finance.
