Contact Dr Juanxi Wang

Background

Juanxi is Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Financial Economics. She holds a PhD jointly awarded by University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands and Bielefeld University in Germany (2015). Her PhD is supported by EDEEM fellowship from European Commission. She was also a visiting PhD at the University of Cambridge. Prior to joining Cranfield, Juanxi was lecturer in Economics at the Glasgow Caledonian University, research associate at the Heriot-Watt University, and a KTP associate at the University of Strathclyde.


Current activities

Juanxi's research focus on time series analysis, applied econometrics, complex system in finance and economics and behavioural finance.  She is particularly interested in the instability of financial market. She develops new statistical methods for understanding the movement of economic and financial time series, which take into account nonlinearities that may appear as a result of bounded rationality of agents. Her research also provides insights on appropriate monopoly policy tools for the control of housing bubbles and bursts. She is also very interested in analysing agent’s behaviour prior financial crisis by using econometric models, computational models and data analysis.
