Background
Beth Rogers is best known for pioneering sales education in higher education in the UK. Beth's MBA was from Cranfield and she has worked with the School since 1992 on a variety of research and teaching projects. She chaired the body which introduced UK National Occupational Standards for Sales 2005-2009 and headed up the Marketing and Sales Subject Group from 2012-2017 at the University of Portsmouth School of Business and Law. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Professional Sales and regularly contributes to their webinars. She also contributes to a postgraduate International Business and Sales Programme at the University of Eastern Finland, and is an examiner with other universities and professional bodies.
She is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, recognising not just her reputation in the field of sales education, but her achievements in innovative learning and teaching methods and leadership of academic teams. She has authored conference papers, articles (for academic journals and practitioner magazines and blogs) and six business books, including the popular "Rethinking Sales Management". She has recently co-authored with Cranfield Emeritus Professor Malcolm McDonald on Key Account Management, and with practitioner Dr Jeremy Noad on "Selling Professionally" (2020), which is the IPS recognised textbook for the Level 4 sales executive apprenticeship.
Prior to her academic career, Beth worked in business development roles in the information technology sector. She is currently non-executive director of a medium-sized retail enterprise, and is a consultant to a variety of educational, training and commercial organisations.
