Background

Dr Szymański is a research fellow in turbomachinery aerodynamics in the Propulsion Engineering Centre, School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing [SATM].

Dr Szymański obtained his PhD in Turbomachinery Design and Exploitation from Silesian University of Technology (Gliwice, Poland) in 2017. Prior to that, he obtained his MSc (Hons) and BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from Silesian University of Technology (Gliwice, Poland), in 2013 and 2012 respectively.

Current activities

His research interests include:

- Secondary flow system design in gas turbines

- Computational fluid dynamic methods for turbomachinery

- Axial compressor bleeding solutions

- Gas turbine design and design methods

His expertise is in process simulation and modelling of flow phenomena, and analysis of engineering data.
