Age: generally between 34-55, the average being 46. 

Company position: directing a business or substantial business unit, or critically influencing the actions of a number of business units. 

Managerial experience: several years of managerial and business experience at a director level. 

Input to company strategy: leaders who contribute to the long-term direction of the organisation. 

Qualifications: none required except experience, although many have professional qualifications or degrees and previous management training. 

Career prospects: most see a further progression in contribution to their current business or in successive senior executive roles in their corporate organisation.
