Business Simulations Director

Over this period Karen has established a suite of simulations which can be run either face-to-face, on-line or a mix of both, to enable organisations and their executives to develop understanding of: Business & functional level strategic thinking, finance, decision making, leadership, cross-functional and cross-cultural working, greater awareness of key functions, individual and team behaviour.

Examples of the organisations that Karen has worked with include: EDF, Barclays Commercial, East African Breweries, EMC², L’Oreal, Pearson UK, Kuehne Nagel, and NATS. She also runs business simulations for master level students on the Cranfield Full-time & part-time MBA and the Management for Technology Programme for SATM & SWEE – additional schools in the University.

Karen has also championed the University’s contribution to the community. She has established a series of school challenges that enable teachers and young students to gain a valuable insight into the business world via the simulations. Their experience is supported by mentoring and coaching from local managers.

I enjoy working in the Centre for Customised Executive Development because:
I get to meet such a diverse range of people and to globetrot but also love that I can help other’s learn

My go-to resource for business information is:

The business leader I’d most like to have dinner with is:
Jeff Bezos – CEO/Chairman Amazon –to ask him if “being all things to all people is sustainable”

When I’m not being a Business Simulations Director, I like to:
Do some yoga, swim and am an eager but bad squash player, enjoy good food, love Aperol Spritz and good wine, and travelling and listening to live music…the list is long !

My dream long weekend destination would be:
Too many to choose, but anywhere where I can immerse myself in the culture, food (food turning up again)and music, somewhere that changes my perspective on the world

Secret talent:
I make wonderful welsh cakes
