Board member & Consultant to High Technology Companies

In 1998 Glenn co-founded Cambridge Silicon Radio Ltd (subsequently CSR Plc) as a start-up project and was a member of its board of directors from the outset that managed the growth of CSR through its listing as a public company in 2004 up until 2007, serving first as marketing director and then as sales director. During this period he led all of the sales and marketing activities. Glenn helped grow the company from an idea between the three founders in May 1998 to one that created the world’s first single radio silicon chip in 2000 and which dominated, with a 50% share, the Bluetooth chip market by 2004, reaching a market capitalisation of just over $3bn in the summer of 2006 and annual sales of $849m in 2007.

Glenn is a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, and was part of the four person team at CSR that was awarded Royal Academy of Engineering MacRobert Award in 2005. He holds a BSc in Physics and an MSc in Electronics from Durham University (1984 and 1985), as well as an MBA from Cranfield University (1994).

Since 2005, Glenn has been a board member and advisor at technology companies in the UK and France and has served on 4 public company boards and 5 private company boards as a non-executive director. He is currently a non-executive director and remuneration committee chairman of Inside Secure SA (secure and contactless technology, in the south of France, listed on the Euronext main market), a non-executive director and remuneration committee chairman at SDL Plc (language translation and customer experience management services and software, listed on the LSE main market) and a non-executive director of privately held Blu Wireless Technology Ltd (60GHz wireless chip technology).
