- SponsorG’s Growers Ltd
Building on successful Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) between Cranfield and G’s Growers that developed the airborne remote sensing services (known as AgriEye), further contract research and consultancy was commissioned by G’s to determine key performance indicators (KPIs) for lettuce. Using advanced image processing, the remote sensing data collected by AgriEye aircraft can be used to automatically extract agronomic information such as plant counts, sizing, and crop growth and development. Then remote sensing vegetation indices, such as NDVI, are used to assess variation in the canopy and with expert knowledge can be linked to soil variability or management practices to optimise management of resources and reduce waste.
