Cranfield University, in partnership with Helios Towers, a leading independent telecom tower company, has been awarded Silver at the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) Excellence in Practice Awards. Competing with business schools around the world, the award recognises the impact of Cranfield’s leadership development programme developed in close collaboration with Helios Towers.
Since 2021, Cranfield’s Executive Development has worked with Helios Towers across a wide range of leadership and management initiatives. This includes the ongoing delivery of the Senior Leadership Development Programme, now in its sixth cohort, alongside Executive Committee and Executive Leadership Team events held across the Middle East. In 2025, the partnership also delivered a Commercial Excellence and Strategic Negotiation programme, which is set to run again at Cranfield in June 2026.
Graham Bell, Director of Executive Development and Professional Learning at Cranfield University, said: "This prestigious recognition confirms the impact that collaborative learning can achieve. Our partnership with Helios Towers demonstrates how tailored leadership development can deliver real organisational value, while supporting the growth of forward-looking leadership. I’m delighted to see this work recognised by EFMD."
Fatima Coninx, Group People Director, Helios Towers, said: "This recognition is a proud moment for Helios Towers and reflects our deep commitment to developing purpose-driven leaders who create lasting impact. Together with Cranfield University, we’ve built a programme that strengthens our people, our culture and our ambition to lead with excellence across our markets.”
Chris Coghlan, Programme Director at Cranfield University said: "Cranfield is honoured to receive this award alongside Helios Towers. Over five years, this has been a highly effective partnership, enabling us to design and deliver development experiences that have supercharged Helios Towers' growth. We are most proud of the meaningful commitment to advancing female leadership across the Helios Towers. We would like to pass on our thanks to all those that have been part of the journey so far and we look forward to the next chapter of the partnership."
