Cranfield School of Management is now taking applications for a new MBA in Energy programme starting this September.

Combining the University’s strengths in business education and energy and power, the new MBA will enable students to capitalise on the exciting career opportunities within the rapidly expanding energy sector.

Director of the MBA programme Dr Stephanie Hussels commented:  “In 2015, 12 percent of MBA graduates went into the energy sector, the highest proportion among all European schools surveyed by FIND MBA.  Given Cranfield’s expertise in energy and our globally recognised MBA, it was the logical decision to offer a programme that will develop future leaders specifically for the energy industry.”

Cranfield is home to some of Europe’s leading-edge technology making it the ideal provider for a specialist MBA in Energy. The University’s industrial-scale facilities include an ocean systems laboratory, gas turbine plant, anaerobic digestion plant and high temperature coating test facilities, which provide a unique platform for energy research and learning.

Professor Feargal Brennan, Director of Energy and Power at Cranfield University commented:  “The Energy sector faces an exciting time over the coming decades as we transition to a new generation of clean, reliable and sustainable power. Joining forces with the world-renowned Cranfield School of Management to train future energy leaders through the new Energy MBA makes perfect sense, and will provide our graduates with an unrivalled career advantage in this global marketplace.”

Dr Hussels went on to say: “Providing a sustainable, secure and affordable energy supply is fundamentally important to all our lives. Cranfield is advancing the potential solutions in energy and power to ensure our future needs are met and now we will be developing the leaders to take these solutions forward, which we are very excited about.

“The changing energy landscape presents exciting opportunities and the potential for the UK to lead in new technologies and services related to low carbon energy and power generation.”
