Background

Zhen received his Bachelor's degree in Internet of Things Engineering from Northwestern University for Nationalities in 2019.

During his gap year he worked as a researcher at the IoT Think Tank in Beijing, doing research on applications in the IoT industry.

Zhen received his MSc in Cyber-security Manufacturing from Cranfield in 2022, during which time his group project was Toward the Digital Transformation of industries in Oxford to Cambridge Arc.It was while working on his group project that Zhen see the future of the digital twin, leading him to chose Feasibility of a meta-digital-twin as his individual project.

Out of curiosity to explore the new world of the digital twin and his skills in the Internet of Things, he embarked on a PhD to research the resilience with digital twin.

Current activities

Zhen is currently pursuing a PhD in Enable resilience in Digital Twin.

He is focusing on developing a machine learning based approach for the digital twin to self-learn if there is an inaccuracy in the digital twin, and to correct the inaccuracy by bringing the digital twin to the accurate state.

At Cranfield, Zhen is base at the Centre for Digital Engineering and Manufacturing (CDEM),which hosts cutting edge simulation and NDT inspection facilities
