Contact Zakariae Belmekki
Background
After doing two years of "Classes Préparatoires aux Grandes écoles" in mathematics and physics - which is an intensive course to prepare for french engineering schools, Zakariae has integrated ESTIA (Ecole Supérieure des Technologies Industrielles Avancées) for a 3-years general engineering course. Zakariae also holds an MSc in Software Engineering for Technical Computing, awarded by Cranfield University.
On the professional level, Zakariae has done multiple internships. One in Aenergia Terawatt, a french company that specialises in energy optimisation, and The Geneva Astronomical Observatory in Switzerland.
Current activities
Currently a PhD research student in Cranfield University School of Aerospace and ESTIA, Zakariae is working on optimising Deep Learning models from a low-level perspective. This project is a collaboration between Cranfield University and ESTIA-Research: the thesis is in co-supervision between both parties. The research focuses on Generative Adversarial Nets since any optimisations are done on that model can be generalised to other models since the GAN framework has both a generative and a discriminative model.
