Background
Yanni completed her MEng (Hons) in Structural Engineering with Architecture from the University of Edinburgh in 2019. While in Edinburgh, she became interested in engineering in medicine and biomechanics and subsequently completed her eight months research period and final year thesis on “Generic and patient-specific models of the human femur: a comparison”, where she analysed the effectiveness of generic models of the human bone with finite element modelling. In 2020, Yanni moved on to pursue a PhD in biomechanics in a joint programme between Cranfield University and Aston University.
Current activities
Yanni is carrying out her PhD research within the Cranfield Forensic Institute, within Cranfield Defence and Security. Her PhD research focuses on the improvement of surgical outcome in adolescent flatfoot corrective surgery.
