Background

Xin Xiong has three years worth of industry experience as a CFD engineer. His work experience has allowed him to utilise what he learnt during his master's at Shanghai Institution of Technology in China about CFD with a strong emphasis using commercial software Fluent and StarCCM+. Since then, Xin Xiong has completed his MSc in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) from Cranfield University. Upon completing his MSc, Xin Xiong has returned to Cranfield to pursue a PhD in Lattice Bolztmann Simulation of Bubble clusters based on C/C++ Programming and CUDA parallization.

Xin Xiong did his MSc individual project about multiphase simulation within finite volume framework related to rapid solidification/melting in welding technology application. His interest now is also multiphase simulation ,which is based on Lattice Boltzmann multiphase model such as Shan-Chen, Color-Gradient and Free Energy Model.

Current activities

Xin Xiong is carrying out his PhD research within the Centre for Computational Engineering Sciences. His PhD research focuses on Lattice Bolztmann Simulation of Bubble clusters based on C/C++ Programming and CUDA parallization.
