Background

Utkarsh Gupta is versatile researcher with industrial as well as academic exposure. He worked as an IT(software) professional for 7 years and held various positions in Centre of Emerging Technology Solutions at Infosys Limited, before starting his journey at Cranfield University.

He is an interdisciplinary candidate with background in Robotics, Software Development, Mechanical Engineering with a keen interest in Aerospace sector. He is skilled in multiple programming languages, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Human Robot Interaction, Machine Vision, Gas Turbine Performance, and Automation. He also takes interest in unfolding technologies like Brain Computer Interface, Augmented and Virtual Reality, Hydrogen and Electric propelled Aircrafts, UAVs and Autonomous Driving Vehicles.

Current activities

Utkarsh is currently involved in an European Project 'Impact Monitor' under Horizon Europe programme. He is working with German Aerospace Center (DLR) to develop a coherent and holistic impact assessment framework and toolbox that supports the European Commission (EC) in making science-based informed decisions for technology and policy assessment of the environmental, economic, and societal impact of European aviation R&I. Specifically, the assessments will focus on greenhouse-gas emissions, local air-quality, and noise.

His current project involves collaboration with German Aerospace Center (DLR), Royal Netherlands Aerospace Centre (NLR), Transport & Mobility Leuven NV, Belgium (TML), EASN-Technology Innovation Services (EASN-TIS), University of Stuttgart, French national aerospace research centre(ONERA), Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Italian Aerospace Research Centre (CIRA) and University of Patras.
