operations and exercises, she is recognised as a dedicated specialist in her field. For the last three
years, Rikke has spearheaded efforts to develop a comprehensive battlefield forensics framework
using NATO as a case study, integrating military, government and civilian contributors to improve
intelligence gathering, support investigations and enhance operational decision-making. She is
currently driving The Past, Present and Future of Battlefield Forensics, an ongoing collaboration
with NATO, Cranfield University and Danish Special Operations Command to build bridges across
sectors and optimise collaborative outcomes. The PhD project is planned to conclude in 2026. However, Rikke will continue her
efforts in driving forward research and development and having Battlefield Forensics recognised
as a multifaceted and unique scientific discipline.
